Editorial Guidelines Policy
Welcome to Bela Recipes (belarecipes.com). This page tells you how we make our recipes and articles. It also explains how we check them, and how we fix them if something is wrong.
Why Bela Recipes Exists
We want to help you cook good food at home, even if you are just starting out. Every recipe should be easy to follow, tasty, and safe to make. We do not want to post long, confusing recipes that waste your time or your money.
Our goal is simple: help you cook with confidence and enjoy every meal.
What We Care About
- Clear steps. You should always know what to do next.
- Real kitchens. Our recipes use ingredients and tools that normal homes can find.
- Honest advice. If a recipe is tricky, we say so.
- Respect for you. Every cook is welcome, whether new or experienced.
From Idea to Published Recipe
Every recipe and article goes through these steps before you see it.
1. Choosing a topic
We pick topics based on what readers want to cook. We look at popular meals, seasonal foods, common kitchen problems, and questions people ask often. We also look for topics where we can add something useful that other sites miss.
2. Setting a goal
Before we start, we decide what the post should help you do. For example, a “quick dinner” recipe should really be quick. It should not hide long steps or hard-to-find items.
3. Research
We study the dish before we write about it. We look at how it is traditionally made, what ingredients matter most, and what mistakes people often make. We use trusted cookbooks, food websites, brand product pages, and our own cooking experience.
4. Writing
We write in short, simple sentences. Each part of the post answers a question or solves a problem. We remove repeated lines and extra words.
5. Checking the facts
We check the important details before publishing, including:
- Ingredient names and amounts
- Cooking times and temperatures
- Serving sizes
- Tool and equipment names
- Any numbers, dates, or claims we mention
6. Editor review
An editor reads every post before it goes live. The editor checks that it is correct, clear, helpful, and easy to read.
7. Layout and photos
We add headings, short paragraphs, lists, and photos that match the recipe. Photos should help you understand the dish. They should not trick you.
8. Final check
We check spelling, grammar, links, photos, and any notes about affiliate links one last time.
9. Publishing
A post goes live only after all these steps are done.
Who Writes and Checks Our Content
Bela Recipes is a small website. We are not a big newsroom or a large team of experts. Our content is written and reviewed by the Bela Recipes team.
If a guest writer helps us, their work is checked first. We may change it, ask for fixes, or say no if it does not meet our standards.
The Bela Recipes team is responsible for everything we publish.
How We Research
We start with a simple question: “What does the cook need to know?” A good recipe explains what to do, why it works, and what could go wrong.
Our research may include:
- Trusted cookbooks and food websites
- Product labels and package instructions
- Information about ingredients, such as how they taste, cook, and can be swapped
- Our own cooking and testing at home
- Questions readers ask again and again
How We Check Our Sources
We like to use the original source whenever we can. For example, the package label on a product is better than someone else’s guess about it.
If the original source is not enough, we compare it with other trusted sources. If we cannot confirm a claim, we do not publish it. We either change it into a clear opinion or take it out.
For things that change, like seasonal foods, prices, or product availability, we try to check them when we publish and when we update.
What We Fact-Check
We fact-check every post before it goes live. This is a normal part of our work, not an extra step. We check:
- Names of foods, brands, and products
- Ingredient amounts and cooking times
- Oven or stove temperatures
- Serving sizes
- Numbers, facts, and quotes
- Links to other websites
- Anything that could become old or wrong later
Our opinions, like “this sauce tastes best with fresh herbs,” are not facts. When we share an opinion, we explain why we think so.
Food Safety and Health
Cooking can be risky if safe steps are skipped, so we take care here. Where it matters, we add notes about things like cooking meat fully, storing leftovers safely, and handling raw food.
Please remember:
- Bela Recipes is a food website. We do not give medical, nutrition, or health advice.
- Any nutrition numbers we show are estimates only. Real numbers can change with brands and portion sizes.
- If you have an allergy or a medical diet, always read ingredient labels and talk to your doctor or a qualified expert.
Our Recipe Standards
Before a recipe goes live, it should have:
- A clear goal and a reason to exist
- A full ingredient list with amounts
- Steps in the right order that are easy to follow
- Correct times and temperatures
- Tips to help you avoid common mistakes
- Possible swaps, when they make sense
- Photos that match the real dish
- A final human review
If a post does not meet these standards, we fix it first.
How We Use AI
We may use AI tools to help with research, grammar, and making text easier to read. These tools can also help us organize ideas and find things to double-check.
We do not use AI to publish posts automatically. We do not use it to create low-effort or copied content. A real person reviews and fact-checks everything on Bela Recipes before it goes live. The editor decides if a post is ready.
Editorial Independence
Our opinions are not for sale. Ads, affiliate links, sponsors, and brand partners do not decide what we write or recommend.
We include a product or brand only when it fits the recipe and helps you. If a business relationship exists, we tell you.
Affiliate Links and Sponsored Posts
Sometimes we may use affiliate links, sponsored posts, free products, or brand partnerships. We will always tell you when this happens.
If you buy something through an affiliate link, we may earn a small commission. It costs you nothing extra. It never changes what we recommend.
Sponsored posts must follow the same rules as all our other posts: be honest, be clear, and be useful to you.
How We Keep Posts Up to Date
We look at our older posts every 6 to 12 months. Posts about seasonal foods, prices, products, or shopping links may be checked sooner.
An update may include:
- Fixing wrong or old information
- Removing products that are no longer sold
- Improving steps or adding better tips
- Fixing broken links
- Replacing weak photos
For big changes, we update the post to show the new information. Small fixes, like spelling or layout, may be made quietly.
Your Feedback and Corrections
We love hearing from you. If you see a mistake, a wrong measurement, a broken link, a confusing step, or old information, please tell us.
When you send a correct report, we will check it. We try to fix it within 72 hours. Some fixes may take longer if we need to test the recipe again or check the facts.
